Taveau family genealogical collection, 1853- ca.1902.

Collection contains three ledgers with handwritten and typescript copies of genealogical research, a large family chart, and 26 identical rectangular paper bookplates, with Taveau coat of arms and motto. Two of the ledgers are handwritten copies of The Family History of Taveau de Mortemer completed by Augustin L. Taveau in January of 1853. One is in French (copied by G. Rene de M. Taveau from a copy of the original M.S. Baltimore, M.d. January 26th, 1899), the other in English. French volume is 98 pages, English is 99 pages. The third ledger contains typescripts of genealogical research including Brief Sketches from the ancestral records of George Washington as well as the English translation of The Family History of Taveau de Mortemer. The family chart measures 27.5 inches x 21.5 inches and is entitled Genealogie de Taveau de Mortemer. Family lines from 1360-1902 are included. Ends with desendents of Taveaus living in Baltimore, Maryland.
